In this blog post we set down with our long time friend, Pantam player, Pantam stand maker and sound engineer – Thomas Ben Tov.
Thomas is our go to guy when it comes to recording our Pantams.
He is well known in the Pantams and Handpans world, and have recorded and mixed some of the top players around.
In the video below, Thomas shares with us some tips and guidelines on how to record a Pantam.
If you are struggling with mic positioning and Pantam recording and mixing, this one is a pure jewel for you.

Good you do this, just getting ready to record some pieces.i was curious if u use a floor mic u underneath on bottom notes since they don’t project up like top notes or will 2 top mics be good, thanks
Thanks so much! Great helpful video for studio recording! Sometime I’d love to hear how you recommend mic-ing the pans for a home live concert & simpler set-up. Peace!
